Web Based Communication Tools that Enhance Learning K-12
The Model Schools department supports our schools in improving the home to school connection and the online "distance education" learning environment by using sophisticated communication tools. There are a host of products that support schools in this endeavor.
Currently the LHRIC has contracts with the following products:
- Blackboard - private course management system. Allows instructors to post homework and conduct "virtual" type classes with students.
- eChalk - content management system and course management system. This complete communication system allows school users to have an integrated web based email, class pages with archived assignments, discussion boards, blogs, grading, seamless connection to
- SchoolCenter - (contract in progress) public content management system with unlimited class page creation.
- SchoolWorld - public content management system, with unlimited class page creation and add-on modules to enhance your school/district's web site.
